Why we simulate before we fly
A note on the tools we build for ourselves: a simulated aircraft for the ground station and a virtual wind tunnel for the airframe.
By the Rox Aero team
Flight testing is the most expensive place to find a mistake. Two of our internal tools exist to move those discoveries earlier.
The RoxAero GCS runs against a simulated aircraft, so operator displays and mode logic are reviewed on the bench. The Aerodynamics Workbench puts an airframe in a numerical wind tunnel long before a prototype exists.
Neither replaces flight test. Both make it shorter.
